Whether creating havoc as part of The Hart Dynasty, executing the family Sharpshooter or stepping out on her own to capture the Divas Championship, the fiery third-generation Diva has shown time-and-time again that the legendary Pink & Black legacy is safe in her hands. Zap2it.com Interview on the Life of a WWE Diva

Published by:
  2013/07/29

Natalya spoke to Zap2it.com about Total Divas premiering tonight on E! and talking about the fast life as a WWE Diva.

George Dickie, Zap2it.com:

The life of a WWE Diva is not unlike that of a professional football or baseball player — long stretches on the road, changes of time zones, waking up in different cities (and sometimes countries), and keeping yourself in shape and performing well amid all the distractions and demands.

And those distractions and demands can be considerable, as detailed in the new unscripted series “Total Divas,” premiering Sunday, July 28, on E! Entertainment Television.

The hourlong series from Bunim/Murray Productions (“Project Runway,” “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”) shows life beyond the ring for the seven women who must balance grueling work and travel schedules, public appearances and other commitments.
“[People] don’t realize that this job is as full time as full time can be,” Nattie Neidhart, a Diva who wrestles under the monicker Natalya, tells Zap2it. “It’s planes, trains and automobiles; it’s early morning flights, late night shows, running on three hours of sleep, everything from adrenaline to blood, sweat and tears. It’s like there’s so much that goes into us having a five- or 10-minute match. It’s insane because we don’t just wrestle in the ring.

“We do so much stuff,” she continues. “We do a lot of work with different charities, and WWE is always giving back to the community, so we do stuff with Be a STAR, which is our anti-bullying campaign, and the Wrestling and Reading Challenge, which encourages literacy and kids to read. And obviously, WWE is an ambassador to Make-A-Wish and the National Guard, and now we just joined forces with Special Olympics. So there’s just so much that we do, and it’s actually really fun because no day is ever the same, and I think you’ll be exhausted just watching us be exhausted.”

Neidhart’s secret for survival?

“It’s about rolling with the punches, not letting every little thing get to you,” she says. “There are situations where there are blowups. But at the same time, I really, truly feel at the end of the day all of us come back together, and there is a lesson to be learned from every blowup; everybody that had cried in the show or had been upset, there’s something that we all learn from, and it brings us together at the end of the day.”

FoxNews.com Interview

Published by:
  2013/07/26

Natalya was interviewed on FoxNews.com to promote Total Divas premiering on E! this Sunday. She spoke about becoming very emotional on the show, getting closer to her fellow Divas, and what people can take from watching the show.

Leora Arnowitz, FoxNews.com:

Let’s get ready to rumble! From the training to the fighting to the sexy ensembles, “Total Divas” will give wrestling fans and up-close and personal look at the female stars of WWE.

The reality series, premiering on E! this weekend, follows seven female wrestlers as they compete –at times with each other—and try to maintain personal lives all while they fight to become the top WWE champs.

“This is just basically the first time that the WWE has allowed cameras behind the scenes,” a rep for E! told FOX411. “We really follow these seven divas both out of the ring and in the ring.”

Natalie “Natalya” Neidhart, one of the stars of the show, said that the series will show viewers just how much work goes into becoming a WWE superstar.

“[You see ] us traveling more than you’d care to,” Natalya told FOX411. “It always shocks you to see how much we travel. On ‘Total Divas’ it’s going to give people such an experience [to see] what we actually do, how much work we do behind the scenes.”

She said the show also focuses on her interaction with the other six stars, who include the Bella Twins—Brie and Nikki—Naomi Knight, Cameron, Eva Marie and Jo-Jo Offerman.

“I really didn’t know a few of the girls very well at all [before the show],” Natalya said. “The Bella Twins are like sisters to me… But I got to know [all] the girls on a totally different level. I’d don’t think I’ve ever cried so much in my life.”

Natalya explained that filming the show was very emotional for the group of tough gals.

“Women are wired differently… We laugh, we cry, we fight, we makeup, we share stories, we bond. There’s nothing we really can’t break through.”

But the show doesn’t just showcase the women’s personal lives and girly moments. Viewers will see a good share of physical fighting as well, Natalya promised.

“You will see injuries on the show. Yes, WWE is entertainment, but we have to be really well trained athletes,” she said. “That’s why we always have disclaimers on our shows — it’s really intense. Just like with any major sport…injuries happen. It’s just the nature of what we do. Only about 30 women in the world do what we do.”

But Natalya said for her, the most dramatic moments came when she had to discuss her personal life, and her relationship with fellow wrestler T.J. Wilson —a.k.a. Tyson Kidd—on camera.

“There are some times on the show that I get really emotional. There’s moments that relate to my relationship that have made me cry… I’ve had to confront some of my own shortcomings in my relationship. It took a lot for me to admit in a lot of situations that I was wrong. It was very educational for me as a person.”

She said that the series brought her and Wilson closer together. The two got married in June.

Natalya added that she expects “Total Divas” will teach viewers a thing or two.
“I think the biggest thing that people could take away from this show is that through all the good times and all the bad times… and diva drama, at the end of the day we’re all just human,” she said. “And I think people will learn a lot from all the tributes and trials that we go through.”

Motortrend.com Celebrity Drive Interview – What car does N...

Published by:
  2013/07/21

Want to know what car Natalya drives? Well, check this article out. She was interviewed on Motorcross.com and discussed what car she drives, which is a Volkswagen CC. She also discusses about the first car that she drove and the first car that she bought, as well as some difficulties driving and her favorite road trips. She also talks about Total Divas coming on E! July 28th and how it’ll interest non-wrestling fans into tuning in and opening up things that people will see about the Queen of Harts.
K.S. Wang, Motortrend.com:

Quick Stats: WWE Diva Natalya
Daily Driver: 2011 VW CC (Natalya’s rating: 10 on a scale of 1 to 10)
Favorite road trip: Alberta, Canada
Car she learned to drive in: 1979 Cadillac El Dorado
First car bought: 2000 Dodge Neon

In a first for WWE, fans will get to see what really goes on behind the scenes with the new show “Total Divas” on E! premiering July 28. WWE Diva Natalya, aka Natalie Neidhart, is one of the stars of the show and cameras will document her life, including details of her recent marriage to fellow WWE wrestler Tyson Kidd. When she’s not traveling with WWE, Natalya’s daily driver is a silver 2011 Volkswagen CC she praises for its durability and being an all-around perfect ride. It will surely get some airtime. “It’s my baby. I really love the car,” she says, giving it a perfect 10. “It’s the perfect car for being practical but also being luxurious.” The CC has 15,000 miles on it and she hasn’t had any problems. “It’s such a beautiful vehicle. It has such a smooth ride to it. I almost don’t know when I’m speeding in the car because it’s so smooth, it’s effortless,” she says. “I can be on a highway going 90 miles per hour but you don’t feel like you’re going over 50, which is why I have to be careful to watch my speed.”  She drives rental cars when traveling and says they seem bumpy compared to her CC. “Volkswagens are beautiful cars. They’re very practical and they last a long time. That’s one of the reasons why I wanted to have a Volkswagen —because everybody that I’ve known that has had one talks about how durable they are.” The only thing Natalya doesn’t have in the VW CC is built-in navigation, which wasn’t an option at the time she bought it. “I haven’t had one issue with the car. I do have to use premium gas for it. It’s a little pricey on gas, but I feel safe in it. It’s got lots of space. It has leather seats, tons of trunk room. For me it’s very practical because I do a lot of stuff with my family. It’s kid-friendly, but at same time it’s very sleek and elegant. More than anything, I just feel beautiful in it. I feel like a diva when I drive in it,” she says.

Car she learned to drive in

Natalya is the granddaughter of WWE Hall of Famer Stu Hart, and he gave her his 1979 Cadillac Eldorado. “My grandfather had an obsession with Cadillacs, so he gave me his old Cadillac when I was 16 and I was so honored,” she says. At the time, she was living in Calgary, Canada, where she was born and raised. “I was so excited. I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is the greatest thing ever!'”  Her grandfather and an uncle taught her how to drive. “It’s probably why I can’t parallel park very well these days,” she says, with a laugh. “My uncle Ross taught me how to parallel park. He’s a teacher in Calgary. He’s better at teaching math than he is at teaching how to parallel park.” The maroon Cadillac was about 20 years old when she got it, so she had to learn to deal with its shortcomings. “My grandfather had taken pretty good care of it, but there was just one problem. The brakes sometimes didn’t work,” she says. “So that did cause some difficulties for me, but with some pumping of the brakes downhill, I always managed to make it through.” Her grandfather was excited about the gift. “Even though it was an older car, my grandfather had really nice taste and loved nice things,” she says. “And then you realize that the car was 20 years old, but Cadillacs are built beautifully. It’s like that old saying, ‘They don’t make them like they used to.’ The car was like a really beautiful brick house. I loved that car.” It was also a great car to drive in the harsh Canadian winters. “In Calgary there was a lot of snow, they’re really hard winters and that car took a licking and kept on ticking,” she says. “It was a heavy, solid little vehicle. I became a very good driver because of it. “The Cadillac was so heavy, you wouldn’t need to put sand bags or anything in the back to avoid sliding and slipping,” she says. “For me, the best training for driving in the Cadillac was driving through the snow, and there’s lots of hills in Calgary. If you can drive in the snow on black ice and horrible blizzard conditions, you’re going to be the best damn driver around.” As Natalya’s daily driver, the Eldorado got her to wrestling practice and shows. “I always felt like driving in my grandfather’s Cadillac brought me luck, but at same time when I was going to a wrestling show, or to wrestling practice, I could always have my friends. I’d just pile four to five people in that Cadillac. I could throw all my ring gear in back.” She saw the old Eldorado as a metaphor as she was coming up in the wrestling world. “It sounds crazy, but it taught me when you fall down you have to get back up, brush yourself off, and keep going,” she says. “That Cadillac definitely personified my wrestling career in the sense that sometimes things weren’t always easy, but like a good car, I’m built to last.” Driving in Canada’s harsh climate taught the wrestler the value of perseverance and flexibility. “So that helped me obviously with my wrestling career, because I needed to be able to learn how to work with anyone, to be able to wrestle small girls, big girls, tall girls, wrestle men if I had to.”

First car bought

After the Cadillac ran its course, Natalya saved up money she made from waitressing for several summers and bought a new 2000 Dodge Neon. “I was so excited to buy that car and it was my first purchase of anything. And that was where my first car accident happened. A week after buying that brand new, right-off-the-showroom Dodge Neon, I had a little bumper-to-bumper fender bender,” she says. “It was not a pretty sight, but I ended up accidentally bumping into a monster truck.” The Neon wasn’t built like the Cadillac, so the whole front end crumpled. “It caused $7000 damage. Even though my grandfather’s car was old, it was such a good quality car. My old 1979 Cadillac may have been a little rough around edges, but it was a lot more durable. It wouldn’t slide around in snow whereas my Dodge Neon would be all over the place in the snow.”

Favorite road trip

Natalya’s favorite road trips are the ones she used to take with her family, going to wrestling shows they organized all over Alberta. Her grandfather has trained some of the most successful wrestlers in what is known as the Hart Family Dungeon. Graduates include Chris Jericho and Edge. Natalya was the first woman to train there.

“We would do road trips to Stampede wrestling and when I was younger my uncles would run wrestling shows,” Natalya says. “This was when I was first starting to get involved with wrestling and way before I became a WWE Diva. We would drive all over … and my uncles would run wrestling shows. Sometimes they’d have 20 people at them, and sometimes 500 people.” There would be long 10- to 12-hour drives to towns like Cold Lake, Milk River, Red Deer, Saskatoon, and Indian reservations for these events. “Those were wonderful memories because they were really such great bonding experiences for us as a family,” she says. At the same time she was learning about the family business. “My uncles would put (the shows) on and I would wrestle in them. I wouldn’t make any money. The shows really didn’t make any money. We would lose money, but it was such a great experience to learn about the nature of what we do, from setting up our own wrestling ring to talking about what it is that we’re doing, and the importance of being athletic in the ring,” she says.

“Total Divas” on E! starts July 28

“It’s going to be an amazing show that showcases the lives of seven WWE Divas, including myself, our lives inside WWE and our lives outside of WWE,” Natalya says. “It’s the first time WWE has ever done anything like this, letting people backstage into this very private world of ours. They won’t just get a chance to see Natalya the Diva, but they’re going to see Nattie (Natalie) Neidhart and what I do in the ring and outside the ring. They’re going to see everything from emotions, to drama in the locker room, to us disagreeing about this, that, and everything else.” She thinks viewers will be surprised by everything that goes on. “It’s a very private world behind closed doors at WWE and that’s the beauty of it, is that nobody knows what happens backstage. It’s where the magic is made,” she says. “Through all the disagreements and all the trials, triumphs, tears and smiles, at the end of the day we all come together and we all realize that we are a family and that we really need each other. So there’s also this lesson to be learned from watching the show.”

Viewers will see the WWE Divas interacting with other WWE stars as well as helping out various charities as part of their job. “The role of a Diva is defined in so many different ways. That will also be revolutionary and groundbreaking, for people to see what it is we do. It’ll be very eye-opening,” she says. “We do so much for different charities. WWE is all about giving back. So they’re going to get an inside glimpse of in-the-ring kicking butt, in our locker room, backstage, interacting with all the superstars of WWE, everybody from Daniel Bryan to John Cena. Even Mr. [WWE CEO Vince] McMahon and Stephanie McMahon, his daughter, all have little cameos on our show.”

She believes the show will also interest people who aren’t wrestling fans. “I’m a big fan of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’ I just like to watch them because after a long day, even though it’s important to know world events, you don’t always want to watch what’s going on in the news. Sometimes I want to watch something and have fun watching it and just laugh or, go, ‘I love what she’s wearing,’ or, ‘God, I could relate to that.’ And you’ll get to see that watching this show.” Natalya recently married fellow WWE wrestler Tyson Kidd, aka T.J. Wilson, and the wedding will be featured on “Total Divas.” “I’ve never ever shared our personal life. It’s just been something I’ve kept so private. So this is the first time that I’m sharing that and people will get to see what it is that makes us tick at home, and what we go through traveling so much, how we keep relationships being on the road 280 days a year. Even stuff with our parents, things that people can relate to that they’re going to go, ‘Wow, I never knew that about Nattie, I never knew she went through that. I can relate to her.’ ”

She and Kidd have been together for 13 years. “He’s been the only person I’ve ever dated or been with,” she says. “I’ve known him since I was a kid. He’s actually one of the people that also taught me how to wrestle. But I have never, ever, ever talked about my relationship publicly.” Members of the Hart family will also be on the show. “My dad used to be a wrestler, so we talk about that, what it was like growing up with him and the trials and triumphs that he’s had and the WWE,” she says. Natalya emphasized that the show will be an emotional first for her and for fans. “It’s the first time I’ve ever really been truly comfortable in opening up about things that have happened in my family and things that are going on in my personal life and stuff that I’ve gone through.”
