 About this Wonderful Lady!
Mini Bio: From the moment she first came before the WWE Universe, Natalya realized that competing in WWE was a gift, one she would utilize to its fullest extent. Of course, being trained in the legendary Hart Family Dungeon alongside a few famous family members didn't hurt either. Despite a profound desire to forge her own path, there's no denying that Natalya possesses the "hart" to reach new heights in the ring. Whether creating havoc as part of The Hart Dynasty, executing the family Sharpshooter or stepping out on her own to capture the Divas Championship, the fiery third-generation Diva has shown time-and-time again that the legendary Pink & Black legacy is safe in her hands. I’m very excited for the new season of Total Divas which premiered this week on E!

It’s hard to believe that this is our eighth season and amazing how much the show has evolved for the entire cast. Myself, The Bella Twins and Naomi have been on the show since the beginning and Paige, Lana and Nia Jax make up the rest of our amazing crew. We have had so many awesome additions to the cast over the years. You never realize how much you or your friends have grown until you step back and watch it all unfold.

We kick the show off at WrestleMania, where anything and everything can happen.  We get to see Nia Jax win the Raw Women’s Championship as she faced off against Alexa Bliss. Seeing her get her hand raised was an incredibly special moment. It was so cool seeing Nia walk backstage and realize that she made history on the grandest stage of them all. While I was competing in a Battle Royal, searching for my WrestleMania moment, I ended up running into a little wardrobe malfunction. It’s a long story, so you’ll just have to watch the show to find out exactly what happened.

This season on Total Divas you also get to see Lana and Naomi compete in their first “Money In The Bank” Ladder Match. Naomi was born to be in a ladder match as there is no one I know more athletic than her. Lana admittedly needed help, and my dad was able to give her a few tips on how to handle the match, but when the two got together, shenanigans happened! Seeing my dad coach Lana in various things always cracked me up. I’m still trying to get over that time Lana threw a shot put into the windshield of my car. My neighbours haven’t looked at me the same since that happened.

Facebook Watch’s Mixed Match Challenge is back for Round 2! This week on Twitter, @fadhitman asked me how I feel being paired up with WWE Superstar and Montreal’s own Kevin Owens. It’s certainly an interesting pairing, to say the least.

When I found out I’d be teaming up with Kevin, I asked myself, “What do we have in common?” I realized a few things: we both are from Canada, are very family oriented, have competed around the world before ever coming to WWE, are inspired by Owen Hart, have a spoiled Persian cat who we shamelessly Facetime on the weekends, both like to powerbomb our opponents and we both enjoy poutine. That was a mouthful!

Well, maybe we aren’t as different as we thought! I’m excited to see what we bring out of one another as we team up for the new season of Mixed Match Challenge. I know one thing for sure, both of our cats will be watching live on Facebook Watch.

Last season on the inaugural Mixed Match Challenge, I was paired with a teammate who was very unique and unlikely as well, SmackDown Live Superstar and Japanese sensation Shinsuke Nakamura. Teaming up with him was so much fun because he brought something different out of me. Nakamura made me want to dance like I didn’t have a care in the world, wear wild clothing to the ring and even meow at my opponents just to be extra ridiculous. Let me clarify, I only meowed once!  At the end of the day, it was fun and that’s what a great partner can do, make life even more fun.

Finlay is a producer in WWE and has worked closely alongside the women superstars since 2001. He’s helped coach and mentor everyone from Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Jazz, Stacy Keibler, Beth Phoenix, The Bella Twins, Charlotte Flair, Lana, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Ronda Rousey to dozens more.  Some of the most well-known women in the history of WWE have learned to shine on the brightest stage of them all because of Fit Finlay.

Fit was born in Northern Ireland in a seaside town called Carrickfergus.  On its shore sits an 800-year-old castle, which is where Fit was trained by his father, a second-generation wrestler, making Fit a third-generation wrestler. Fit’s son, David, is fourth-generation wrestler, proving it indeed runs in the family!

Fit’s first match was in 1974 in a small village in Northern Ireland called Glynn. The match came about because Finlay’s dad was a man short for a show he was running. He turned to a young Fit and said, “You gotta wrestle tonight son.” It was there at the age of 14, wearing his dad’s wrestling gear, that Fit had his first match.  And so the journey began.

I had the chance to ask Fit why it’s so important for him to help pass his knowledge onto the women of WWE.  He said: “I think it became important to me because I saw a need, and it seemed to me that the women’s division at that time was just standing still and spinning its wheels. I felt I had something to offer, not to teach anyone to wrestle like me, but to tap into what made each of the women special and to help identify their individual personalities.”

WWE’s biggest event of the summer has come and gone, but it reminded me of my favourite SummerSlam moment ever.

Last year’s SummerSlam was very special for me because I won the Smackdown Women’s Championship. It was a long road for me to win the title, but Barclays Center in New York City felt like home when my hand was raised. I couldn’t have asked for a better opponent in Naomi, who happens to be one of the most talented female WWE Superstars in the world. I still look back on our match and that moment we shared together at SummerSlam in awe. The match was proof that dreams do come true!

If I were to pick a favorite SummerSlam match of all time, there’s one iconic match that comes to mind:  SummerSlam 1992, Bret Hart vs. The British Bulldog at Wembley Stadium in front of more than 80,000 people. It was a magical night for my uncles Bret “Hitman” Hart and the British Bulldog, who at the time were two of the most incredible superstars in WWE. If you ask me, they were the best, but I’m also a little biased!

I spoke with my cousin Harry Smith, whose father is the late British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith. Harry was a member of the Hart Dynasty, a tag team I used to manage in WWE with my husband TJ Wilson (a.k.a. Tyson Kidd.) I asked Harry what his thoughts were on that match that I loved so much and what it meant to him. After all these years, I realized I had never asked him that question and was curious as do what he had to say.

Renee Young interviews Natalya as she reminisces about her father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, and reveals what it meant to wear her dad’s jacket during SummerSlam.

I really want to thank everyone for all of the love that they’ve shown to my dad and my whole family in the past week.

It means so much to my sisters, mom and me. My dad would be so touched that you all thought so much of him. To say he was popular would be an understatement.

I didn’t realize saying goodbye would be this difficult. My dad meant so much to myself and the entire family.

Daddy — as I affectionately called him — and I were so similar in a lot of ways, and we shared that extra-special bond of professional wrestling and our careers.

He would send me random text messages to work on my dropkicks and get at least two dropkicks in every match because that’s what Dynamite Kid would do.

He loved being a part of Total Divas and knew how to turn on the extra energy when the cameras were on, like when he was helping me train for my first-ever ladder match.

I loved reminiscing with my dad about his matches with the Bulldogs and his partnership with my uncle Bret Hart as the Hart Foundation. He always said that wrestling the Bulldogs felt like a night off.

My dad loved my uncles Bret, Owen and Davey and Grandfather Stu. When you travel the world with someone sharing your same passion, like they did, you build an unbreakable bond.

“The Anvil” was an incredible athlete.

He was a world-class shot putter in his teens. After that, he played for the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders and, later, would go on to spend most of the rest of his professional career in WWE, where he became a two-time WWE tag-team champion as part of one of the greatest WWE tag teams of all time, The Hart Foundation.

Judging by the tributes that have poured in this week, Daddy, you really left your mark on the fans!

Growing up, I had no idea just how hard my dad worked to make it all work. He spoiled my sisters Jenni, Muffy and I with nonstop trips to 7-Eleven for whatever goodies we wanted (we were only allowed to get four things each!) or to Toys R Us.
