 About this Wonderful Lady!
Mini Bio: From the moment she first came before the WWE Universe, Natalya realized that competing in WWE was a gift, one she would utilize to its fullest extent. Of course, being trained in the legendary Hart Family Dungeon alongside a few famous family members didn't hurt either. Despite a profound desire to forge her own path, there's no denying that Natalya possesses the "hart" to reach new heights in the ring. Whether creating havoc as part of The Hart Dynasty, executing the family Sharpshooter or stepping out on her own to capture the Divas Championship, the fiery third-generation Diva has shown time-and-time again that the legendary Pink & Black legacy is safe in her hands. Natalya Interview With TV-Insider.com – 1/31/2018

Published by:

Natalya Interview with tvinsider.com – Natalya talks of Total Divas season 7 finale and weighs in on new WWE Rookie former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Natalya on Women’s Royal Rumble

“It was surreal. It’s been something that all of us girls have been wanting to be a part of for a long time,” Natalya tells us.

“Before, we’ve only seen Chyna, Beth Phoenix and Kharma in the guys’ Rumble matches. So, for us to have enough women in both divisions and NXT come and be a part of this first-ever women’s Rumble with the women from the past who paved the way for us, it was such an honor to be a part of it.”

“Just seeing Beth lift Nia Jax up, I was watching from the floor. I was in awe of that alone,” Natalya says. “Going back in my career, a lot of people have not seen me work with Beth. I did one obscure match with her on SmackDown two weeks before she retired. We had tag-teamed a lot, so we never really worked against each other. I think it was a surprise to everyone.

“Obviously, Trish Stratus has been a huge inspiration to me. She is somebody that I, in a nutshell, idolized. I saw Trish beforehand at Raw 25. And after all the interviews I’ve done [where I’ve] spoken of her, I’ve never told her in person that more than any person in my family—including Bret Hart, Owen Hart, British Bulldog and my father Jim Neidhart and my grandfather Stu Hart—more than anyone in my family, I’d watch her on TV and wanted to be like her.

Natalya on Ronda Rousey

“Every single person has an opinion. That’s such a fun part of our job,” she says.

“My husband, Tyson, is a producer at WWE, and we always have friendly exchanges of our opinions driving in our car from town to town. Was it the right way to debut her? Should she have debuted the next night on Raw or at WrestleMania? It’s hard to know what the answer is. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Ronda as an athlete.

“To me, just seeing her backstage as a friend, I picked her up off the ground when I saw her. It’s not my place to say if it was right or wrong. The other girls and I, we all have our own opinions. We can speak our minds. It’s a free country. For me, more than anything, I was just happy to see my friend…”

Natalya on Season Finale of Total Divas

“The season finale story is powerful with TJ. One, we haven’t really shared to the world yet. It shows that when one door closes or temporarily closes—because TJ never announced a retirement; TJ has no plans of ever announcing he is retired from wrestling—another door opened with a new role that is much better for him and his health. It’s nice to share this all with the world, to show there is so much you can do in this company besides being an active WWE superstar.”

In WWE, one of the most important things I’ve learned in my decade-long career is that working together and “playing well with others” is a key to success. I’m very independent at times and always have been.

Despite working on TV in front of millions of people each week, I like to do things by myself like traveling, shopping and working out. At times, I am a loner.

Upwards of 300 days a year, I share a locker room with an amazing group of women on SmackDown Live. We perform around the globe night in and night out and must keep ourselves in great conditioning and, more importantly, healthy.

A lot of my career is based on working with others; something that is so important but not often discussed. In the women’s locker room, we don’t always agree with each other, just ask my in-ring nemesis Charlotte Flair.

But at the end of the day, when it comes to entertaining the WWE Universe, we realize that collaborating on our ideas and giving one another input as well as constructive criticism is extremely helpful.

There are times when someone might offer up a suggestion I don’t entirely agree with, but I am willing to give their idea a chance because I want my co-workers to give my ideas a chance, too. Teamwork is the same in any relationship, whether personal or professional: it’s give and take. Compromise is everything.

When it comes to working together, there is no greater example I can think of than WWE’s newest offering, “Mixed Match Challenge.” This is a weekly show available in Canada on WWE Network that consists of several mixed tag teams working together to compete against another team for charity.

Natalya Interview with Audioboom/Baby Huey & Bimbo Jimbo &#...

Natalya recently did an interview with AudioBoom.com’s Baby Huey and Bimbo Jimbo about what it was like at Raw 25 and getting the chance to talk to WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and more.

Here are some of the highlights from that Interview courtesy of wrestlingnewssource.com

Being backstage at Raw 25:

“It was surreal being backstage last night because there were so many iconic people from my childhood, and so many special characters from the most special time in WWE history. You look at the people who helped build Raw, and made Raw what it is today. Like Trish Stratus, and Steve Austin, and APA…Even just outlandish characters like the Boogeyman…Who could forget Mean Gene Okerlund who was a voice from my childhood…I remember when DX invaded our TV Screens, and Steve Austin gave Mr. McMahon the first stunner on live TV. Trish Stratus and Lita main eventing Raw for the first time for women to do that. It was really cool being backstage, and I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Even though I’m a superstar in the WWE I am still a huge fan of the people who came before me and paved the way for me to do what I do today.”

Speaking with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus backstage at Raw:

“When I was 19 I met Trish for the very first time. I met her backstage. She didn’t know who I was and she didn’t know really anything about me, but she took the time to talk to me, and we talked for quite a while, and she was just so sweet to me and so genuine and so gracious. All these years later it was always something that stuck with me…For the first time in knowing Trish I got to tell her last night that she’s such an influential person to me because when I first met her she was so kind to me. I think about that when I meet up and coming superstars. Guys, and girls that are trying out in the WWE, or want to be a part of the business, and you never know who’s going to make it, and you never know if it’s going to be your conversation that you have with them that’s going to be a turning point in their life or their dreams. I told Trish that her meeting with me backstage really confirmed that I really wanted to be a part of WWE and do what she was doing…I wanted to capture that moment, and let people know how important it is to treat people with respect the way that Trish treated me, and she didn’t have to.”

“I told her growing up I never had a shortage of inspiration. I never had a shortage of people to inspire me. When you grow up with the likes of Bret “the Hitman” Hart, Owen Hart, and The British Bulldog, my grandfather Stu Hart, and obviously my father Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart you know I had a lot of people that I looked up to, and especially in the ring. But she was the first woman. She was Canadian, she was blonde, and she was beautiful, but she was also really tough. She wrestled through a broken nose, she main evented raw, and she just broke down these barriers for women. She was just this woman that made me want to do this more so than even any person in my family, and so I wanted to be like her.”

Competing in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match:

“I mean to be a part of the first ever women’s Royal Rumble, it still really hasn’t sunk in to me that I am going to be with 29 other women making history. It’s very special, and again the women’s evolution in WWE we are on a roll. You’ve seen us in the last couple of years have a Hell in a Cell Match, main event Raw, main event Smackdown, main event a pay per view. We have had two back to back Women’s ladder matches. We’ve done so many incredible things, and now to be making history with the first ever women’s Royal Rumble it’s going to be epic. It’s definitely going to be a moment that I don’t I’m going to ever forget.”

Natalya Interview with TVGuide.com – Top moments of Raw &#...

Natalya breaks down her Monday Night Raw moments in honer of tonight’s 25th anniversary of Raw with an interview with TVGuide.com

The Hart Dynasty was just beginning to make waves in the WWE and consisted of tag team partners Tyson Kidd, a graduate of Stu Hart’s famous wrestling school the Hart Dungeon, and David Hart Smith, the son of Davey Boy Smith, with Natalya, the daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, acting as their manager. The team hit their first big milestone when they defeated The Big Show and Miz for the tag team titles — a special moment that was highlighted by the appearance of Bret Hart.

“That was such a cool moment, to have [him] raise my hand and my husband’s hand and my cousin’s hand,” Natalya tells TV Guide. “That was the first really big championship that we won and we did it together as a family. We couldn’t have done it without the help of Bret “The Hitman” Hart so it was one of those special moments that I’ll never forget.”

Monday Night Raw is the longest-running weekly episodic show in United States television history. To quote Stone Cold Steve Austin … oh, hell yeah!

There have been many incredible memories the WWE Universe has experienced in two and a half decades of Raw. Just imagine how many mudholes Stone Cold stomped into foes during that time? How many souls did The Undertaker reap? How many eyebrows did The Rock raise or Sharpshooters did Bret “The Hitman” Hart dish out on his way to victory?

There have been many memories that I can personally share that are close to Calgary’s very own Hart family.

Did you know that The Hitman and The Rock competed against each other on Raw? It was an incredible moment.

The first-ever European Champion was crowned on Raw. That match featured my uncles, the “British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith going against Owen Hart in a classic match.

There were lots of new beginnings on Raw, too, like the Hart Foundation faction of Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, Brian Pillman, Owen Hart and The British Bulldog that was first formed on Raw. The current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar also made his debut on Monday Night Raw in 2002 and has been a force to be reckoned with ever since.
