Smackdown Live Preview – 6/27/2017
|
|

The women of SmackDown LIVE will get another opportunity to make history tonight in the second-ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The first match at WWE Money in the Bank was supposed to be a historic occasion, though it was arguably tarnished when James Ellsworth knocked Becky Lynch off a ladder, then climbed it himself. He retrieved the briefcase and tossed it down to a waiting Carmella. The Princess of Staten Island and Ellsworth gloated on SmackDown LIVE, flaunting in the faces of the WWE Universe that they had done nothing wrong by the letter of the law in the WWE Rulebook.
However, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Natalya and Tamina saw things differently, and the four women urged SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan to “do the right thing.”
After considering all options, Bryan revealed that all five women would compete in another Ladder Match for the guaranteed title opportunity. Bryan took the briefcase from an astonished Carmella and announced on WWE Talking Smack that Ellsworth will be banned from ringside.
With Ellsworth’s meddling out of the equation, will Carmella be able to retrieve the coveted contract again, or will one of the other four Superstars be calling themselves Ms. Money in the Bank? Find out tonight on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network! – WWE.com

Money In The Bank Preview – 6/18/2017
|
|

The SmackDown LIVE Women’s division is once again about to prove just how ground-breaking it can be. At WWE Money in the Bank, Natalya, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Tamina and Carmella will compete in the first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The fuse for the unprecedented showdown was lit during the May 30 edition of SmackDown LIVE when all five Superstars competed in a 5-Way Elimination Match to determine the new No. 1 contender to SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi at the highly-anticipated June 18 pay-per-view.
None of the athletes proved willing to wait for the bell, though, and a pre-match brawl inevitably broke out, setting the stage for all-out bedlam.
As the dust cleared, SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon picked up the mic and acknowledged just how hungry the five competitors were for a chance at the prestigious title. Taking pride in Team Blue being The Land of Opportunity, Shane-O-Mac seized the moment to make history by declaring that all five Superstars will square off in the first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
With ladders placed all around the ring, who will conquer the opposition, climb the dangerous rungs, grab the Money in the Bank briefcase and capture the coveted contract to earn an opportunity to challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship anytime they wish in the next year? Find out tonight at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on WWE Network

Nattie Interview with ESPN.com 6/15/2017
|

Nattie recently spoke to ESPN.com about the up coming woman’s Money In The Bank ladder match.
“The Money in the Bank ladder match is going to be insane, because it is a first for us,” said Natalya, in a recent interview with ESPN.com. “But we’re not just girls going in there and fighting with each other. We’re superstars in the WWE. Our company is treating us just like they’re treating the guys.”
It’s indeed been a historic couple of years for the women of WWE, with a lot of firsts and long-time-coming moments. There were women’s division Raw and SmackDown main events. The first women’s Hell in a Cell, and the first pay-per-view main event. While some have bristled at certain moments, claiming that it’s too much too fast — and falling almost entirely on deaf ears — there’s little use in denying the women of the SmackDown roster have earned the opportunity to try to do something new and completely different.
“It’s funny that you mention how special the SmackDown women’s division is, because we are all feeling it,” said Natalya. “It’s not just the audience, the WWE universe that’s noticing it. We notice it too.”

Calgary is very special to me. I went to school at Vincent Massey Jr High, Western Canada High School and Bishop Carroll High School. I’d hit up the Red Mile, which we Calgarians know to be 17th Avenue. My sister Jenni and I would have lavish lunches at Melrose and talk about our dreams for the future. We wanted to be rich and famous, of course! I saved up all of my money from working full time as a hostess at Montana’s Cookhouse Saloon for those fancy dining experiences.
Calgary is just so special to me. I hold my Calgary summers close to my heart because nothing is more precious to me than our Sunday family dinner at the Hart House, where my grandfather Stu would prepare feasts for more than 50 people every week. His spaghetti dinners were my favourite. The Hart House overlooked the Calgary Skyline, and if you looked far enough, you could see the stars that shined brightly over Edworthy Park. Even the air in Calgary smelled different to me. It smelled like home.

This week, I couldn’t wait to perform before a sold-out crowd at the O2 Arena in London for SmackDown Live! More than 12,000 fans showed up to cheer and boo (I play a bad guy so I deserve those boos!). Right now, I am eating a piece of England’s finest pizza when I should be eating a chicken breast. But that is OK because I’ve earned it: gulp!
Over the last two weeks on our European tour, we were everywhere, or so it seemed. We performed in Glasgow, Scotland; Cardiff, Wales; Valencia and Coruna, Spain; London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Newcastle, England; Stockholm, Sweden; and Copenhagen, Denmark. This has been an experience of a lifetime. In one day, I landed in Scotland, flew to Wales and then ended in Spain, all within 24 hours. I’m exhausted just thinking about the travel we have done.
