 About this Wonderful Lady!
Mini Bio: From the moment she first came before the WWE Universe, Natalya realized that competing in WWE was a gift, one she would utilize to its fullest extent. Of course, being trained in the legendary Hart Family Dungeon alongside a few famous family members didn't hurt either. Despite a profound desire to forge her own path, there's no denying that Natalya possesses the "hart" to reach new heights in the ring. Whether creating havoc as part of The Hart Dynasty, executing the family Sharpshooter or stepping out on her own to capture the Divas Championship, the fiery third-generation Diva has shown time-and-time again that the legendary Pink & Black legacy is safe in her hands. I love being able to shine a light on women who embody female strength, as there are so many incredibly talented women that I work with in WWE who inspire me every single day. This year at WrestleMania, the women of WWE set a record for the most women’s matches at a Wrestlemania with four in total across two nights. It was also incredibly special to witness something else that was historical for the women of WWE, as Jessika Carr become the first woman to referee a match at WrestleMania.

I was able to catch up with Jessika recently to help document her incredible journey as a WWE official. I asked Jessika what it meant to her being the first woman official to referee a match at WrestleMania. She answered, “I had no idea that I would be making history. The WrestleMania match itself was an opportunity to be trusted. To have this job is a blessing and a miracle for me, as you are looking at someone who fell in love with this industry at 10 years old. WrestleMania was also so special for me because on the independent scene, I had worked with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn before, but not as a referee.

“Instead I was wrangling camera cables during their matches and paying my dues. Now, years later, I was able to be part of their performance on the grandest stage of them all at WrestleMania, with our fans returning for that incredible two night event. I will never forget those moments, especially watching both of their entrances from my spot at the ring. It was one of those moments of nervousness that I had to remind myself of how far I had come, and I was meant to be there. I felt like I finally belonged.”

I asked Jess if she saw herself as a role model for other female officials.

She said, “I’d like to think of myself as someone that little girls, boys, and anyone really can look up to and say: ‘If she did it, then I can do it too.’ I love this industry so much that I decided in my heart it was what I needed to pursue and went after it with every fiber of my being. I persisted, made the sacrifices, took the time to learn, kept working on it and still am. That’s part of why I love it so much, as I never want to stop growing.

Before Natalya took on Rhea Ripley, Natalya and Tamina was being interviewed backstage. Natalya states she wants to make history being a tag team champion and winning the Money In the Bank briefcase and then beating RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley for her title, Tamina then hears Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke in the next room, They both confront Dana and Mandy and the two teams have words with the challengers, Tamina quickly shoves Dana but they walk off and Mandy holds Dana back.

Natalya took on Rhea Ripley in a one on one match, The bell rings and they lock up, Rhea takes Natalya down by her arm, Natalya then rolls Rhea for a 2 count. Rhea counters an arm hold and goes to slam Natalya but Natalya rolls her for 2. Rhea Ripley mocks Natalya as they trade more holds and pin attempts on the mat. More reversals and pin attempts continue until Rhea levels Natalya with a headbutt. Natalya blocks the Riptide with another roll up but Ripley blocks the Sharpshooter by kicking Natalya through the ropes to the floor. Rhea Ripley leaps with a dropkick but Natalya moves and Rhea takes Tamina down on the floor instead. Natalya follows up with a discus clothesline to level Rhea at ringside. Natalya climbs up for a superplex but Rhea fights back and sends her to the mat. Rhea hits a big missile dropkick. Natalya runs into a boot in the corner and Rhea goes for the cover for a 2 count, Rhea get a Northern suplex but Natalya decks her in the face sending her head first into the ring post.

Natalya hits some of her signature moves but Rhea blocks a low dropkick, Rhea then applies a Prism Trap inverted Cloverleaf submission but Natalya turns it into a roll-up for a 2 count, Natalya finally gets the Sharpshooter locked in on Rhea but eventually she breaks free sending Natalya into the turnbuckle, Rhea then hits the Riptide in the middle of the ring for pin and wins the match.

This was an awesome match by both Natalya and Rhea Ripley, both showed great chemistry and would love to see these two lock up again in the future.
