March is an exciting time in WWE for many reasons. The road to WrestleMania is in full swing and so is the Women’s Evolution. WrestleMania is the grandest stage of them all, and it’s an event that every single woman in WWE wants to be a part of. There is no better way to celebrate Women’s History Month in March than by putting a spotlight on the women of WWE and around the world striving to reach their dreams through sport.
Whether it’s Serena Williams, Simone Biles, Lindsey Vaughn, or the women of WWE, there are no boundaries to what women today can accomplish. This Sunday, WWE will premiere a new documentary entitled Heaven. It is a powerful story of an incredible high school athlete named Heaven Fitch. She grew up with three older brothers, who all were very involved in sports. Heaven wanted to be like her brothers and play sports, too. She played everything from baseball, soccer and then wrestling. Heaven had to overcome many obstacles on her journey in wrestling, but she defied the odds by joining the male wrestling team.
In 2020, Heaven was the best 106-pound wrestler in her state and was the first girl to win a boy’s state wrestling championship in North Carolina. What Heaven accomplished had never been done before.
The documentary on Heaven Fitch is narrated by WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix. Beth is one of my closest friends in and out of WWE, and it is only fitting that she is the narrator because her story is very similar to Heaven’s story.
